Job Summary
 
Bar lead is responsible for overseeing bar cleaning, maintaining inventory, assisting in establishing par levels and assisting Front of House Managers with beverage orders, support staff coverage, and coaching bartenders.

Responsibilities

  •  Maintains a positive attendance record by reporting to work for assigned shifts 10 minutes prior to scheduled time, switching and finding replacements for no more than 5% of scheduled shifts, following company time off and illness procedures, and having a 0% No call/no show record.
  •  Perform all duties of a Bartender.
  •  Provide staffing coverage in case of employee absence and adjust staffing as necessary to meet business demands.
  • Establish and monitor inventory of beverages to ensure par levels are maintained and use best practices to prevent excess pours or abuse by staff.
  •  Report inventory pars to FOH Managers by assigned time for weekly scheduled orders.
  • Oversee cleanliness of staff, physical bar area and quickly correct and report any health hazards and code violations.
  •  Review daily sales and beverage costs, and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management.
  •  Create and submit to management a weekly transfer and spill log by the assigned deadline.
  •  Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
  •  Maintain set beverage COGS.
  •  Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines.
  •  Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served.
  •  Designate glassware and garnishes for drinks. Maintain all method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by federal liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  •  Inspect quality and amounts of garnishes, ensuring agreement to departmental standards.
  •  Inspect bar set-ups; check for cleanliness and neatness.
  •  Maintain a current drink recipe book/list at each Bar outlet.
  •  Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled while documenting any late or absent employees.
  •  Assign work and side duties to staff.
  •  Inspect grooming and attire of staff.
  •  Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  •  Ensure that a specified amount of menus and wine lists are available and in good condition.
  •  Monitor and address problems with intoxicated guests and/or altercations.
  •  Provide feedback to bar staff on their performance.
  •  Attend designated meetings, menu and wine tastings.
  •  Assist in planning special events and bar promotion.
  •  Assist in developing new drink recipes with garnishes.
  •  Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  •  2+ Plus years as a Bartender with a positive track record.
  •  Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
  •  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout shift.
  •  Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  •  Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures.
  •  Must possess manual ability to operate the register system and handle/serve food.
  •  Must complete and pass food safety/sanitation, CARE and security training.

Compensation: $14.00 per hour
