Job Summary

The Lead Banquet Server Training program is an entry-level program that helps drive top employees to further their career with the Company. The program is designed to train participants with a combination of operational experiences, high-level customer service experience and leadership skills that are taught through hands-on learning. Upon successful completion of the Event Sales Coordinator Training program, you will be considered for placement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains our guest service philosophy by servant leadership and treating all guests and staff members with Aloha.
  • Work closely with the Sales Event Coordinator on facilitating the details of the sales directly with the customer.
  • Accurately communicate the ordering and finalization of event setup with the customers following proper documentation procedures.
  • Direct and supervise setup/breakdown and cleanup after the event.
  • Account for all equipment and supplies. Return restaurant items to storage areas.
  • Return or arrange for return of rented materials.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved.
  • Trains new hires in the service style of the restaurant and standard operating procedures including safety and sanitation expectations.
  • Assigns daily side work and running side work for floor staff to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently.
  • Oversee cleanliness of staff, restaurant floor/patio and grounds area and quickly correct and report any health hazards and code violations.
  • Responsible for checking out each server at the end of the shift. The Lead Banquet Server’s initials are required on each servers’ checkout paperwork before they turn it into a manager.
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
  • Provide staffing coverage in case of employee absence and adjust staffing as necessary to meet business demands.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines.
  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled while working with Managers in documenting any late or absent employees.
  • Provide feedback to Banquet Servers on their performance. Knows all menu items offered at the restaurant. Accurately explains specials to guests. If asked, accurately answers menu items in regard to preparation method, ingredients, portion size, and side items accompanying the dish. If asked, specifies substitutions for items on the menu.
  • Observes table numbering procedures and assigns work sections 100% of the time.
  • Conducts a first greet guests upon arrival. Takes orders if time permits, or informs guests that he or she will return within 3 minutes to assist them.
  • Performs menu merchandising procedures accurately by listing and explaining the provided buffet, suggesting items, and upselling drinks when appropriate.
  • Takes beverage and food orders accurately for all tables. Has less than 2% return of food to kitchen due to order mistakes.
  • Keep glasses filled; remove each round of plates and replenish utensils
  • Legibly completes guest checks and accurately enters orders into POS system following company procedures with 100% accuracy.
  • Picks up orders and completes plate preparation correctly as specified by company plating procedures.
  • Performs check-back procedures with tables within 2 minutes of guests receiving their food and drinks.
  • Totals and presents checks and carries out payment procedures with 100% accuracy.
  • Performs side-work duties correctly as specified.
  • Follows all end-of-shift checkout procedures with 100% accuracy.
  • Follows the alcohol serving procedures in regard to beverage service standards, awareness standards, and government regulations with 100% accuracy
Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old. 
  • 1 year of food service experience.
  • This is an entry-level position and no event service experience is required.
  • Understanding of menu selections, pricing and kitchen procedures.
  • Excellent record of job and attendance performance.
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices.
  • Passion for food service and hospitality.
  • Basic working knowledge of various computer software programs (G-Suite, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Positive attitude with eager ability to learn.
  • Flexible, adaptable and have the ability to act quickly with little or no supervision.
  • Strong communication, organization skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a changing work environment.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • High energy, positive personality.
  • Cold calling, networking and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, can-do and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively meet all deadlines.
  • Results-oriented sales person who can work with limited supervision.
  • Solid computer skills working with G Suite products or similar.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the company.
